How many of you think "Cody" is Actualy a good or a cool name?

my name is cody, i hate it, it sounds to kittyish, i keep thinking Cody is a metrosexual name and i hate that. to me it doesn't sound Manly/Masculine, i want to join the army rangers, i keep thinking Cody makes me sound "weak" its like i think "John" "Michael" makes men sound more tough. what do you think?

Cody sounds like 'slick' like a spy or something. it's a great name, I want to name my kid that. I think...





It means descendent of Oda. He was the Archbishop of Canterbury in England. That's pretty sweet in my opinion.

Reply:Your name is great--I think it sounds "western"--more cowboy than metrosexual (think Cody, Wyoming and Buffalo Bill Cody). It's a lot more memorable than John. Agent Cody Banks was smart %26amp; cute. Besides, if you're going to join the Army Rangers, you might as well find out now that it's not what happens to you, but how you look at it. I'd start thinking of my name as a cowboy's name--they're tough, independent, and about as un-metro as you can get.
Reply:The name Cody actaully makes me think of a short buff guy in army fatigues, never thought of it as feminine or delicate at all.





As with all names you will be what you prove yourself to be, not what you think your name makes you.





I do like the suggestion of Code if you are looking for a change.

It's not going to hinder your experiences in the Army. Although they may haze you a little bit if you actually do sound like a sissy...=)





You wanna be an Army Ranger but don't even have confidence in your own name... I think you already quit.
Reply:Cody is a great name. Sounds wonderful for a ranger - sort of 'great outdoors, western, rugged'.(What about Buffalo Bill Cody?) You should be proud that your parents wanted something different ordinary, but not weird - it could be something like Moon, or River!
Reply:Well, personally I see nothing wrong with the name Cody. You make your name as weak as you make yourself. So if you make yourself feel and seem weak then you are. If you apply yourself and make your name stand out above all others then you are upholding yourself.

If you don't like it maybe you can start to go by your middle name, if you think it's more masculine.

Reply:I like the name Cody, it feels less masculine because of the "y" at the end. You could always ask family and friends to call you "Code" if it would make you feel more masculine.

I love the name personally. It may not be the most manly name out there but i dont think its "kittyish".
