What would be a cool name for an author?

I had in mind Acadia Anne Moore, because I was going for something really unique. But now that I've looked on websites with really neat names, I think I should go with something different. I'm into french names like Adaline and Emma and stuff like that. (websites would help too)

What would be a cool name for an author?
Here's some tips that I used when picking out my penname:

-Don't make it too long or too unique. "Clementine Aristotle Wintworth" is an example of a flashy name that looks almost ridiculous.

-Two syllable first names paired with a one-syllable last name are appealing. Examples of this are Alice Craw, Stephen King, Jaime Hall, etc...

-Make it something easy to remember.

-Don't base your penname off of your book material. In other words, if your book is about fairies, don't make your penname "Flower Wingshade" or something silly like that.

-Consider the beat of your pseudonym. "Cruella Melissa Hart Lily" is overwhelming. "Melissa Hart" is not. It sounds nice on the tongue. It's not too hard to remember.

Good luck with everything =]
Reply:Unless you are looking for a cool name for a fictional author, I'd use your own name, instead of a pseudonym. Authors use pseudonyms to break out of their established genres, usually. If you are published under a fake name, you have to establish the fake name as one of your real names, because your royalty checks will be issued to the pseudonym!
Reply:Why do you ask? Do you want it for a pen name for yourself, or for the name of a character who is a writer? Because if it's for you, I recommend using your real name. If it's for a character, it depends on what she's going to be like. The name should reflect something of the character's personality.
Reply:bu! the coolest name for an author is his own. don't try to make up silly names like those you were talking about they just seem prig, stupid.you see, when your book comes out you will like and you will be proud of seing your name, a name that you and your friends recognise in the cover. truly.
Reply:This is one of my favorite websites for names.

There's a whole list of French names. Good luck!

I think "Jolie" is a really pretty girl name. And it means pretty.
